Lynette Tsai, MD

Lynette W. Tsai, MD, is the founder of Oahu OB/GYN. For over 21 years, she has applied her passion and talent for women’s health in the private practice setting. She provides complete obstetric and gynecologic care to women and is skilled in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Tsai graduated summa cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in Biology with departmental honors. She earned her MD degree at the UCLA School of Medicine. She is a member of the Delta chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. In 1999, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Today, Dr. Tsai performs minimally invasive surgeries, such as robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomies, using the da Vinci Xi® surgical system. This surgical system leaves only 8mm scars and patients may go home on the same day. She is one of the few female gynecologists on the island to use the latest da Vinci Xi robotic system for operations.

At Oahu OB/GYN, Dr. Tsai performs routine gynecological exams, Pap smears, and colposcopies, and assists women through every step of pregnancy and birth. She personally performs all the deliveries and surgeries for her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Tsai enjoys working out at the gym, doing Zumba, and spending quality time with her three children. She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Kathy Kaya, APRNx, FNP-BC, MSN, RNC-OB, E-CFM

Kathy is a family nurse practitioner, board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed to practice in the State of Hawaii. She received both her undergraduate degree and Master’s in nursing degree at Hawaii Pacific University. Kathy began her nursing career as a Labor and Delivery nurse and is a certified inpatient obstetric nurse and certified in electronic fetal monitoring. Her experience includes work in family practice, emergency room, and clinical nursing instructor for Chaminade University.

Kathy joined Oahu OBGYN in June of 2018. She is native Hawaiian and enjoys gardening native Hawaiian plants. She is an avid sports fan and strives to become a better golfer. Kathy lives with 3 happy American Pitbull Terriers and one grouchy cat.

Erica Cadiz-Sales, APRN

Erica attended the University of Southern California where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 1999. She returned to Hawaii to serve her community and at the same time, attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa to advance her degree. She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing and is board certified in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Erica started her nursing career in maternal-child nursing, newborn nursery and special care nursery. She also supervised caregivers who cared for the adult mental health in community setting. She loves to educate and also has been an adjunct professor in Maternal-Child Nursing at Chaminade University of Honolulu for 8 years. Providing the delivery of care in labor and delivery, as well as in women’s health has always been a passion for Erica. She is happy to join Oahu OBGYN and share her knowledge of providing proficient quality care.

Erica enjoys the beauty of nature. She loves hiking, running, or just spending time with her family at home.

Wimonrat Fursey, APRN, WHNP-BC

Wim is our newest addition to Oahu OBGYN. She is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful practice where she can put her passion for providing healthcare to women. This passion originated from her 19 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse and the recognition of unique health needs and challenges for women throughout their lifespan. She strives to see patients as individuals and deliver compassionate care with an integrative approach to ensure the most healthy and appropriate outcome.

Wim acquired a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Widener University and Master’s degree in nursing from University of Cincinnati. Oahu has been her home since 2012. Originally from Pennsylvania, she became accustomed to island life from many travel nurse assignments between Oahu and the US Virgin Islands and has also worked abroad in the Cayman Islands. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors, especially on the beach with her husband, two children who are boy/girl twins and their two senior dogs, a Black Lab and a Newfoundland.

Lucie Tam, RN, BSN

Lucie was born and raised on the island of Oahu. She attended Kapiolani Community College and obtained her Associate in Science Degree in Nursing and continued on to the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she obtained her BSN in Nursing.

Lucie has always had a passion to care and help others. She started her health career in 2011 when she was hired as a nurse aide at the Queen’s Medical Center on the orthopedic unit. She grew an interest in Emergency medicine and transferred to the Emergency department as an Emergency Room technician and then shortly after she obtained her nursing degree in 2013 and became a registered nurse in the ER.

With her nursing degree and experience in caring for people, Lucie wanted to expand her knowledge and skills in helping people in other ways. Aesthetic nursing has become one of her interests and feels that it is another avenue of health through beauty.

In her free time, Lucie enjoys spending time with her 3 children and family. They take advantage of living in Hawaii and spend time outdoors at the beach, hiking, walking, going to the farmers market to support local businesses or just hanging out at the mall. When she is able to, Lucie dabbles in Jiu Jitsu, golfs, plays volleyball, and attempts to learn pickle ball. Lucie also loves to bake for her children, family and friends. Prior to nursing school, Lucie received a degree in Pastry Arts from Kapiolani Community College
